Audacity is a program that is installed locally on a user’s computer and communicate any personal information back to the developer’s systems. As such, the program may be installed on SCPS computers with the support of your school’s tech contact.

HIGH SCHOOL USE ONLY What information is collected? Account Information: When you create a GameMaker account, they collect your name, email address, and a password. Analytics Data: The GameMaker Integrated Development Environment (IDE) sends analytics data to YoYo Games (the developers of GameMaker). This includes information about your computer, such as monitor size, CPU, GPU, and memory. Usage Data: They collect information about how you use their services, including the features you use and the time you spend on the platform. User-Generated Content: Any games or other content you create and upload using GameMaker are stored on their servers. Device Information: When you log into a game made with GameMaker, they may collect your username, IP address, a timestamp, the game the login originates from, and a unique device identifier. 2. How is the information used? To Provide and Improve Services: The collected data is used to operate and maintain the GameMaker platform, to fix bugs, and to improve the user experience. The analytics data helps them "better target our services towards the needs of the user." Advertising and Marketing: While the primary focus is on improving the service, the privacy policy indicates that data may be shared with third parties for advertising and marketing purposes. To Communicate with You: They may use your email address to send you information about your account, service updates, and promotional materials. 3. When might the information be destroyed? User Request: You can request that your data be deleted by contacting their data controller at datacontroller@yoyogames.com. This is in compliance with GDPR, but they state that all users, regardless of location, can make this request. Data Retention Policy: The privacy policy does not specify a fixed data retention schedule for all types of data. It does state that chat logs are stored for no more than 3 months and login and debugging information for no more than 6 months. 4. Terms of re-disclosure: Third-Party Sharing: GameMaker shares aggregated information about logins, game activity, and other statistics with game developers. They also share your username and login timestamps with developers. Third-Party APIs: Games made with GameMaker may contain third-party APIs (like Unity). As YoYo Games is a UK-based company, it's likely that data is stored in the UK and/or the European Union, but it could be transferred to other locations.
