Questions

Common questions from families, and how to reach the district's Data Privacy team.

What is a Data Privacy Agreement?

A Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) is a contract between the district and a vendor that spells out what student information the vendor may receive, how it must be protected, that it may not be sold or used for advertising, and when it must be deleted. Seminole County Public Schools uses the national Student Data Privacy Consortium agreement as its standard.

How do I ask a vendor to delete my child's information?

Under Florida law and the district's Data Privacy Agreements, the district can require a vendor to delete a student's information. Contact your child's teacher or school administration and include your child's information and the application name.

How do I report a concern about an application?

Start with your child's teacher or school administrator. You may also contact the district's Data Privacy team directly; concerns about an application's privacy practices are reviewed and may result in a change to its status.
